Saying goodbye to a cherished pet is not something anyone looks forward to but when the time comes it’s good to know that you can say goodbye in the landscape of beautiful English woodland.
GreenAcres Woodland Burials with parks across the UK has been helping local families celebrate the life of a loved one with respect, empathy and choice for over 15 years.
But after several requests from families, they have now opened up a special area in the woodland cemeterywhere local people who wish to bury their pet’s ashes can do so in the peaceful and tranquil environment of the woodland.
As well as a certificate to mark the date and the location, people are also invited to make an entry in the Pets Book of Memories held at each park and record a personal message should they wish to do so.
“We have made the process very straightforward” says Nicky Whichelow from GreenAcres Woodland Burials. We have parks in Chiltern in Buckinghamshire, Epping Forest in Essex and Colney in Norfolk with a new park opening in Rainford just outside Liverpool in July 2013 so there is lots of opportunity for people to be able to benefit from this additional approach. “You simply come and chose the section of the pets-only area, the date you would like and pay for the area to be prepared properly for your pet’s ashes. On the day of the ashes burial, one of our staff will always be on hand if you have any questions. You can say goodbye to your beloved pet at the graveside or even hire the Woodland Hall for a special pets service if you choose to.
