Local Masterchef Star supports Colney Macmillan Event

Friday 27th September 2013

Local star of BBC’s Masterchef series, Tim Kinnaird supported GreenAcres Woodland Burials – Colney’s extremely successful Macmillan Coffee Morning.

Tim, who now owns ‘Macarons and More’ in Norwich’s Royal Arcade, delighted the audience with a talk about his journey from medicine to Masterchef and beyond.  He included details of the experiences of his journey, which included a trip to India as part of the Masterchef competition, and how he still includes his fellow Masterchef Finalists as friends, and the valuable support and advice given to him by Masterchef Presenter, John Torode in developing ‘Macarons and More.’

The coffee morning also provided cakes and refreshments baked and provided by staff at the woodland burial park, which were further supplemented by Tim’s generous donation of samples of Blackcurrent and Violet, and Hazelnut and Chocolate Macarons.

“We are so pleased that Tim was not only able to support today’s Macmillan Coffee Morning, but to provide the audience with a fascinating insight into his journey”  says Rachel Hogg, Marketing and Community Liaison for GreenAcres Woodland Burials – Colney.

“It was very appropriate to welcome such a craftsman of macarons and other luxury cakes to our coffee morning.”  Rachel continues,  “Cancer touches many people’s lives and we are pleased that so many people came along to this event to listen to Tim and raise lots of money for Macmillan Cancer Support at the same time.”

The event raised £161.67 for Macmillan, which will be match-funded by GreenAcres Woodland Burials – Colney’s parent company, Bibby Line Group to bring the total donation to  £323.34.

Our grateful thanks to Tim and everybody who attended this hugely successful event.
