Set in 72 acres of beautiful mixed woodland close to Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire, the stunning facilities make this one of the most idyllic places for a private celebration. It is also believed to be the largest of its kind in the UK.
GreenAcres Chiltern was officially opened on June 15th 2009 by Angela Rippon, our buildings were dedicated the previous month at an interfaith service led by the Bishop of Buckingham, with representatives from all churches and faiths, civil celebrants and Humanists.
During the year before, with an office set up in the Portacabin, the staff prepared the woodland for our first burials. With help from Jordans Quaker House where services were held, we were able to have our first Burial on September 27th 2008 for the late Diane Helen Thomas. Our first Ash Interment was for Derek William Buttrum on the 2nd January 2009.
Since those early days we have had over 300 burials and 200 Ash Interments. As awareness and interest in the park has grown many people have purchased their burial and ashes plot well in advance of ever needing it.
At GreenAcres Chiltern, we are also proud of the work we do with the community. Inviting local schools to the woodland, holding an annual BBQ for the Child Bereavement Charity, organising educational evenings about our conservation work for local groups, sponsoring and supporting local community events, and supporting local churches. We have raised over £30,000 for local charities since we opened and are always looking at ways to be part of the local community.
We are living active woodland, and we are passionate about what we do here.
